The much anticipated movie “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” hits theaters at midnight.

The movie is based on the second book, New Moon, in the Twilight series about a teenage vampire romance by author Stephenie Meyer.  It opens in the United States and Canada on Friday, November 20, 2009, but fans have already been buying tickets in advance.  Online ticket sellers Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com reported this week that “New Moon” is their biggest advance ticket seller of all time.  (To buy advance tickets to “New Moon” and find show times near you, click here.)

The movie is expected to gross nearly $100 million from movie theater box offices when it debuts this weekend, and score one of the biggest openings ever for a non-summer film, according to Reuters.  The first film in the series, “Twilight,” which debuted one year ago, reportedly made $69.6 million in its first weekend at the box office.

The Hollywood premiere with the cast of “New Moon” was held on Monday at Mann’s Village Theater in Westwood, CA.  Some fans camped out several days ahead of time to get a close spot in hopes of meeting the cast at the premiere.

“New Moon” stars Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart.  It follows the romance between teenager Bella Swan (Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Pattinson), along with her friendship with werewolf Jacob Black (Lautner).  For more about the film, check out the official Web site.

Actor Johnny Depp was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive 2009.”

The magazine made its announcement on Wednesday, in which Depp will be featured on the cover of People’s annual special issue.  Depp, who also received the honor in 2003, has joined the elite club of two-time “Sexiest Man Alive” holders, which also includes actors Brad Pitt and George Clooney, according to the magazine.

The 46-year-old actor is best known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, as well as quirky Tim Burton films such as “Edward Scissorhands” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Depp is also a father of two.

The recent controversy surrounding Geisy Arruda,  a Brazilian   student is back in news.

The Brazilian university had rusticated Geisy Aruda for wearing a very provocative dress to her school which had created a great uproar in the college premises. The boys tried manhandling her and taking her snapshots while the girls were accusing her of wearing a dress that was not suitable for college wear.

Bandeirante University had accused her of attending her college in “provocative clothing” which was “incompatible with the university environment.”

One of her friends Kelly Andrezzil who was with her was aghast at the way people responded. She reported that on October 22^nd, the moment Arruda arrived in a pink miniskirt their was a near riot in the college premises. They rushed to the restroom, but the girls stormed, the doors. A terrified Andrezzil reported, “I was very afraid of what could happen, but I could not have imagined what was about to come, students were cursing Geisy, calling her ugly names and accusing her of drawing too much attention, even threatening to beat her up.”

The college reported of having warned Arruda to change her ways, as the staff and the students had accused her of indecency. Josias de Souza, the university’s lawyer said that Arruda “always liked to provoke boys, the problem was not with her clothes, but the way she acts, talks, crosses her legs, and walks.”

Arruda who was appalled said that she was being victimized; she had been rusticated by the authorities without even being informed.

Arruda who is a student of tourism says, “I only want to go into the classroom, sit down, study and take tests”.

The wide publicity that the college has given her is not what she wanted. The University had blown it out of proportion. They should have confined it to the college level and sorted it out instead of making it a national issue.

And now she has been silently reinstated without any hue or cry or press coverage. She has been asked by the college authorities to resume her college but with an armed guard.

Probably government interference made all the difference. The Special Secretariat of Policies for Women (SPM) was now looking into the case.

Target is the latest store to have its Black Friday deals leaked online as consumers continue to search the web for the scoop on this year’s holiday shopping deals.

Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving, traditionally marks the beginning of Christmas shopping in the United States. Many retailers offer doorbuster sales as an incentive for shoppers.

Target’s Black Friday deals include $3 toasters and coffeemakers, deals on high-definition televisions, and discounts of 50 percent on clothes and toys, according to GottaDeal.com.  Brad Olson, founder of the web site, said Wednesday that he received a copy of the discount retailer’s ad.

Target spokeswoman Sarah Boehle said the company “is unable to confirm the accuracy of any [Black Friday] two-day ads or pricing information that is posted online,” according to a CNN.com report.

“Each year we chronicle lots of excitement about our ads when we hear that they were prematurely leaked,’ said Boehle. “We really appreciate all the interest. We encourage consumers to look for our official [Black Friday] ad.”

Target is expected to release its weekly circular the week of November 22, 2009.

The Orlando office shooting is horrible. The Orlando office shooting is horrific. The Orlando office shooting is the second shooting in 2 days.  The Orlando office shooting has left 2 dead and 5 injured.  Many more Orlando office workers are barricaded in their offices.

Police are searching for an armed suspect wearing blue shirt and jeans.  The Orlando office shooting is so significant that I-4 in Orlando has been shut down.  The police believe the suspect is Jason Rodriguez DOB 9/28/69.  He may be in a 2002 Nissan SUV Silver Florida Tag D119UX, according to a Live Fox News Report. Call 800-423-TIPS if you have more information.  Motive in the Orlando Office shooting is unclear, although the suspect is believed to be a former employee of a company in the Orlando office shooting.

The Orlando office shooting comes less than 24 hours after the Fort Hood shooting that claimed 13 lives and injured 30, including Kimberly Munley – the civilian police officer that took down gunman Malik Nadal Hassan.

There is no actual official confirmation of the victims and body counts.  An official on Fox News indicated that reports stating that there are deaths are not true.  There are no confirmed deaths at this time, but that could change at any time.
