Shoppers who have been busy searching the Internet for early reports on Black Friday deals will be happy to learn that Walmart has confirmed some of their sales for Friday, November 27, 2009, as well as weekly savings starting this Saturday on popular toys and video games.

Walmart’s Black Friday specials include 50-inch Sanyo plasma HDTVs for $598, Magnavox Blu-Ray disc players for $78, TomTom GPS systems for $59, $7 reversible fleece jackets, and $3 children’s sleepwear, according to Walmart representative Melissa O’Brien.

Some of the toys at Walmart stores that will be discounted (up to 60 percent) starting this Saturday through November 27, 2009, are EZ Bake Oven, Disney Princess Scooter, and Nerf N-Strike Vulcan, The Associated Press reported. Also starting this Saturday, customers purchasing certain gaming packages such as “Band Hero” and “DJ Hero” will receive a $40 Walmart gift card while supplies last.

The much anticipated movie “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” hits theaters at midnight.

The movie is based on the second book, New Moon, in the Twilight series about a teenage vampire romance by author Stephenie Meyer.  It opens in the United States and Canada on Friday, November 20, 2009, but fans have already been buying tickets in advance.  Online ticket sellers Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com reported this week that “New Moon” is their biggest advance ticket seller of all time.  (To buy advance tickets to “New Moon” and find show times near you, click here.)

The movie is expected to gross nearly $100 million from movie theater box offices when it debuts this weekend, and score one of the biggest openings ever for a non-summer film, according to Reuters.  The first film in the series, “Twilight,” which debuted one year ago, reportedly made $69.6 million in its first weekend at the box office.

The Hollywood premiere with the cast of “New Moon” was held on Monday at Mann’s Village Theater in Westwood, CA.  Some fans camped out several days ahead of time to get a close spot in hopes of meeting the cast at the premiere.

“New Moon” stars Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart.  It follows the romance between teenager Bella Swan (Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Pattinson), along with her friendship with werewolf Jacob Black (Lautner).  For more about the film, check out the official Web site.

Egypt vs. Algeria November 18 live is upon us.  The Egypt and Algeria soccer game is exciting for fans wishing to see the two Arabian-African countries compete.  The World Cup qualifier between Egypt and Algeria took place in Sudan.  The November 18 live match was so anticipated and represents such a strong rivalry that, according to BBC News, 15,000 Sudanese police were deployed to the soccer game to deter violence.

After the Egypt/Algerian tie, 32 people were hurt and businesses throughout Algiers were destroyed. After Saturday’s tie, a game was set up for today in the Sudanese capitol.

The head of the Algerian football federation told BBC that his Egyptian counterpart is to blame for all the anticipated violence.  He stated “He is the origin of all the events that occurred, including the barbaric aggression that injured… our players”

Of course, it takes two to tango.  What’s no surprise is that the World Cup qualifying match was highly anticipated by both sides. To play in the World Cup means that your soccer team is one of the best in the whole world.  The 2010 World Cup is special because it is the first event of this magnitude to ever take place on the African continent.

Who won the Egypt and Algeria Soccer Game live on November 18?  Algeria did.  They qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa by beating Egypt 1-0.  The head of the Algerian football federation is probably sitting in his chair grinning and thinking about how karma got the best of his rival opponent Egypt.

Singer Rihanna was recently spotted with “90210” actor Tristan Wilds, sparking rumors that the two are dating.

Wilds, who plays Dixon Wilson on the CW teen drama, was seen at a party at Rihanna’s house over the weekend in Los Angeles, according to the New York Daily News.

“No one knew why Tristan was there initially, because it was not an industry party — it was very intimate. But everyone quickly realized they weren’t meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see,” a source told the New York Daily News.

“He’s a real gentleman,” the source added. “She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up.”

Rihanna, 21, and Wilds, 20, were apparently introduced by a music producer who has worked with both of them, as Wilds is currently working on his own album, according to reports.

Rihanna has recently been in the news discussing her alleged beating by ex-boyfriend, singer Chris Brown.

Actor Johnny Depp was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive 2009.”

The magazine made its announcement on Wednesday, in which Depp will be featured on the cover of People’s annual special issue.  Depp, who also received the honor in 2003, has joined the elite club of two-time “Sexiest Man Alive” holders, which also includes actors Brad Pitt and George Clooney, according to the magazine.

The 46-year-old actor is best known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, as well as quirky Tim Burton films such as “Edward Scissorhands” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Depp is also a father of two.

Although many consumers are heading to Walmart first, at least consider running over to Best Buy – especially if you need electronics.  Their Black Friday 2009 deals are amazing, and will help you have an affordable Christmas.
