Veteran journalist Barbara Walters is known for making people cry during their interviews. She can now add Oprah Winfrey to her list, as the talk show host gets personal in “Oprah: The Next Chapter,” airing on ABC at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday (tonight).

The interview with Winfrey kicks off a two-hour block of Barbara Walters specials, with her 18th-annual “Ten Most Fascinating People” airing at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Oprah cried when she talked to Barbara about her longtime friend, Gayle King, “She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don’t know a better person.”
When Barbara Walters asked Oprah why she was getting emotional, Oprah said, “I’m thinking about how much I probably have never told her that. Tissue, please! I now need a tissue.”
When asked about the lesbian rumors involving her and Gayle, Oprah told Barbara Walters, “I am not lesbian. I’m not even kind of lesbian. The reason it irritates me is that it means that somebody must think I’m lying … That is not the way I run my life.”
Barbara Walters interviewed Oprah Winfrey about the end of her syndicated show next May and the beginning of her new cable network – OWN, The Oprah Winfrey Network.
