“Detroit 1-8-7,” a new television cop drama featuring the city of Detroit, will bring a red-carpet event to Motown on Tuesday.
The premiere of “Detroit 1-8-7″ will be held at the MGM Grand Detroit Grand Ballroom. Red carpet arrivals with the stars are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET. The screening of the pilot episode, which will begin at 8 p.m., is a private event, though.
“Detroit 1-8-7″ stars Michael Imperioli (of “Sopranos” and “Life on Mars”) and veteran actor James McDaniel, along with Aisha Hinds, Shaun Majumder, Natalie Martinez, Erin Cummings, Jon Michael Hill, and D.J. Cotrona. (1-8-7 is police code for homicide.)
The TV premiere is scheduled for 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, on ABC.Â
Detroit and the state of Michigan are both getting a lot of attention from Hollywood lately (thanks to Michigan’s film tax incentive program), with lots of new movies (such as “Scream 4″ and ”LOL”) and projects being filmed there. From Demi Moore to Gerard Butler, stars have been spotted at local bars and Detroit Tigers games. And “Detroit 1-8-7″ not only features the city’s name, but scenes have been filmed around the city.
